I have used Horizon Trust for almost two years and have three properties in my accounts with them. When I initially set up my account I had no problem buying my first property. I never had a problem with someone answering the phone. There was a period when Horizon Trust was updating their data base and it was difficult getting someone to help me. Now that the new system is working it is great and I can check my account daily if I want to. I am pretty persistent and if the first customer service rep does not answer the question I will call back until I get the answer. Lastly, the fees are reasonable and they manage my payments on a timely manner so I am satisfied with their service.

I second Jacquelyn! It’s a shame I’m beginning to wonder if the money’s even still there? Do NOT recommend horizon or capsource BEWARE!

Worst customer service I’ve seen in a company in a long time. Tried to get self directed IRA money to use for a real estate investment. Couldn’t get in contact with Horizon Trust in a timely manner and ended up missing out on the deal. They rarely answer their phones, 99% of the time won’t call you back when you leave a voicemail, 100% of the time won’t call you back once you speak to someone and they say they’re going to call you back. Decided to move my money out of Horizon to another account. They tried to tack on over $1000 in fees for me to do this, requested for these fees to be removed because of the terrible service (or lack there of) and still haven’t heard back. It’s been over a month and a half since I’ve been trying to get access to my money and I still don’t have it. I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy as they have serious issues.

I agree….They have very bad customer service and very long hold times. They have made a lot of mistakes managing my money…..paying bills without my approval and not paying bills on time….I would not recommend this company!!!! I too have moved my assets to another self directed IRA custodian…..Stay away from Horizon Trust!
